The Callgirl, The Cabinet Minister and The Chair

Included in the June website update is a US one-sheet for the 1963 movie The Christine Keeler Affair. Many of us may know about (or maybe vaguely heard about) the Profumo Affair in the UK in the early 60s: Senior cabinet minister has an affair with a beautiful young woman who is also seeing a Soviet diplomat, a huge scandal ensues and the country can't get enough of the salacious details. Esquire's 50 Iconic Posters of the 1980s

In a piece sure to cause at least some chatter among collectors, Esquire magazine has posted a gallery of what it says are the 50 most iconic movie posters of the 1980s. The gallery is organized chronologically, from 1980 to 1989. Not many surprises here, in fact many beautiful classics...but "Chariots of Fire?" Really? Here's a small sampling of the selected posters. Also, not surprisingly, most are sci-fi and horror. Movie Poster Archive Goes Online

The University of Texas at Austin has announced that a massive movie poster collection housed at the Harry Ransom Center is being digitized and is made available online. The archive numbers about 10,000 pieces in total. Four thousand of them have already been photographed and cataloged and will be added to the website in the coming months. At the moment, 500 posters are viewable online. The posters come in every size, from window cards to 24-sheets. The largest part of the archive comes from the Interstate Theatre Circuit Collection.
